Planning babyshower games can be fun. Many of the people
who attend the baby shower will not know one another so it is a good idea to have games that can be played
that will give everyone something to do as well as get to know one another. Here are some ideas

Match Baby With Animal
Babyshower games should incorporate babies into the mix. But this does not mean that it has to be human babies, only. Why not make up a list of animals and other creatures along with a list of their offspring. You can ask the people to match the animals with the name of their offspring. For example, a baby Kangaroo is called a Joey. Some of the names of baby animals can be difficult for the guests to guess and unless you are having a group of zoologists in at the shower, this will take some time. You can have everyone work in pairs or in groups as well as on their own.
Mom’s Name Anagrams
Anagrams are always fun. Write out the name of the expectant mother and see who can come up with the most words formed from the name. Anagrams can consist of any words formed using all the letters of the name or just some of the letters from her name. If you allow for some letters, the list will be longer and the game will be easier for most of the guests.
Popular Baby Names Game
One of the best babyshower games is to guess the year that a certain name was listed as the most popular name. Many children today are given names that are very trendy for today. Very few are named Helen, Beatrice or Gertrude. But those names were once very trendy themselves. If you know the sex of the baby beforehand, you can just guess popular baby names of that sex. But if no one is sure whether the new mom is going to have a boy or a girl, then you can play with names for both sexes.
Name Dropper
One fun game is to give a rattle to one person who has to then pass it to another person. The object of this game is that they cannot, during the gist of any of their conversations, say the word “baby. If the person says the word “baby they are called out by the person who heard them and they have to give up the rattle to that person. They will, in turn, be tricked by those near them to say the word “baby by others. The objective of this game is to wind up with the rattle and win the prize. You can do this with more than one rattle and with any word that you like. Make sure that you show the ladies the prize before you start the game as this will keep them motivated.
